Saw Brandon Flowers, whose new album Thrasher is great, was playing down the road from me tonight. Grabbed a last minute ticket and hopped on my bike and it's time to rock!

Visited the Toltec ruins at Tula today and spent some time reflecting on just how long people have been building and celebrating and puzzling the mysteries of the universe.
I knew when I took this photo of Taroko Gorge in Taiwan it was special to me. Today I hung it as my first diptych and first metallic print of my work. Very pleased to have it hanging in my home studio.

Aphids are more interesting and varied than I knew. These little yellow guys were wiggling and jiggling in the early evening sun. A real challenge to capture.

Caught this look at the sun during the wave of wildfire smoke we had in Boston this summer. The upside was gorgeous sunsets, this one near Harvard Square.
One of the great joys of photography is printing your work. And even better - printing it large! Hannah got these frames cheap and asked me to print these photos from my portfolio for them. They came out great and I'm really probably enjoying them more than she is so far!
Saw a butterfly feeding on a huge button flower plant today on a quiet bike ride in a state park.
On a bike ride in farm country this evening and caught a wonderful sunset.
At the Ashtabula County Antique Engine Club annual big show this year I decided to try to capture all the variety and color of the tractors in this abstract collage. The show has tractors of all sizes as well as oil well engines, pump engines, and electric generators. A very cool display of decades of innovation and technological progress.
I think I might have to go to the parade of sail this July in Boston. Last time I got this shot with nothing but my kit lens. My telephoto and I can probably get some spectacular shots this time.
My macro photography skills aren't great yet but it was a lot of fun trying to get this action shot of ants feeding (farming?) these aphids in our garden.
